In a Barbie World

In a world where everyone wants to look the same in an unrealistic body proportion, with an idea that everyone is supposed to look a certain way: 5.9” tall, 39” bust, an 18” waist and a 33” hips. I don’t think we can get unrealistic than this, we don’t have to look a certain way to be attractive. We can’t be wiser than God that created us uniquely, we are almost looking the same with the same nose, same hips size because same surgical procedures where applied, where is the uniqueness? There’s Beauty in uniqueness, we are same gender (Females) but different butt size, different waist size, different nose size, different everything because we were not made to be the same. In a world were a doll debuted in 1959 is set as a standard of beauty for women, we are expected to be different.

In a Barbie world:

Be an Esther

Esther was obedient to God and her cousin Mordecai. Even when she became royalty, she still listened to Mordecai and continued to show filial piety to the man who raised her. She pleased the king’s eunuch and easily won his favor that he provided her special food and all the necessary beauty treatments. She embraced her inner and outer beauty, she bears up under pressure and adversity to see that her people are saved. In a Barbie world be an Esther with Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Fortitude.

Be a Hannah

Hannah’s story is a story that proves that we receive our heart desires if we are ready to pray in faith and to persevere. Giving up was not in Hannah’s dictionary. She trusted God without doubt and brought Samuel to God as Promised. She dealt with a lot of adversity in her life, yet she was steadfast in seeking out the Lord. Hannah showed exceptional patience and understanding, knowing that God can do all things. In  a Barbie world God wants us to be Persistent in Prayer.

Be a Ruth

Like Abraham, Ruth left her life of false worship and predictable routine. She left a god she knows to chase a God that she knows nothing about, that is a great display of faith and trust. She found favour in the eyes of God and Boaz. Ruth was a respectful woman, a woman of great devotion, she was resilient . Ruth was not selfish, she cared for her mother in law even when she has the right to disconnect with Naomi like what her sister in law did. Be a woman of noble character and virtue in a world where every woman wants to be a Barbie( fake in all ways).

Be a Deborah

She was not distracted by the norms of her time; she saw a problem and was ready to help. Deborah had faith, energy, confidence, intellect and vision. She respected the order of God and the role of men, even as she takes the role of a leader with responsibilities that were primarily for men during her time. Deborah stepped forward with bravery in obedience to God to lead the Israelites in a difficult time. Be a prophetess in a Barbie world where women are known as blabbers.

Be a Mary

Mary the mother of Jesus is one of the recognized and influential people in the Bible, with a miraculous story of the birth of Jesus. She is a woman of courage, strength, tenacity and immerse faith. She is a faithful worshipper of Yahweh, a woman that argued not with the will of God in her life. Kept herself even to the point of her marriage with Joseph. If Mary will be here, she will tell us to be Pure in a Barbie world where women are only considered as toys for pleasure.

Conclusion

Barbie can never be real; she is a doll with unrealistic body proportions designed to be what every female child is expected to look like in adulthood. Her unrealistic body has increased the rate of low self-esteem in Women, eating disorder in order to get that curvier shape which in the long run causes stomach ulcer. I’m not encouraging poor eating habit or being unkept, you can be beautiful without BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) and starvation. The world’s idea of beauty is unhealthy and unrealistic. In a barbie world where women are known for banality, known as looker, aloof and avarice. Be an Esther with Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Fortitude, be Persistent in Prayers, be a woman of noble character and virtue, a prophetess in your household and be Pure In and out.
